I've been a LJ user since 2001 or so, and stopped posting there when they made their user policy changes. One of my LJ friends posted about how they missed having a place for long-form writing, maybe we can convince enough LJ users to click a like button or post greater than 280 characters here.

Long-form writing is part of what keeps me running my my BBS. Bulletin Board systems were the first long-form medium online.
